Day by day

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your safari guide and representative will meet you and welcome you to Tanzania.

You will then transfer to your lodge in Arusha, where you can relax after your journey. Later, your guide will give a full safari briefing to prepare you for the days ahead.

Spend the evening at leisure and enjoy the calm setting as you get ready for your safari adventure starting the next day.

Day 2: Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Depart after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park, the third largest park in Tanzania, and the theater of the wild in Tanzania. Tarangire National Park has a lot to offer you in terms of wildlife and its awe-inspiring sights of the gigantic baobab trees that dot the park. The Tarangire River is the lifeblood of this wonderful reserve, and it ensures an abundance of wildlife along the river when they come to get a fair share of the valuable commodity, especially in dry seasons. Among the animals spotted in Tarangire are lions, elephants, leopards, Oryx, dik-diks, and a wide range of bird species.

Day 3: Tarangire - Lake Manyara National Park

An early morning game drive is worth taking if you wish, and after breakfast, depart Tarangire National Park for Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara is a small, beautiful national park famous for the legendary tree-climbing lions and many other large and small mammals. Lunch can be served at the numerous picnic sites in the park, or if you wish, you may go for a hot lunch at the lodge before returning for game drives in the Late afternoon. You will drive in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight at the Lodge

Day 4: Lake Manyara - Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, leave Manyara early and drive through Karatu to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After registering at the Loduare Gate, you will drive up to the Crater Rim, stopping first at the View Point. You will be treated to breathtaking views of the Crater floor before beginning your descent down the 600-meter walls for game viewing. If you’re lucky, you’ll see the Big Five all on the same day in the world’s largest unbroken caldera. Ngorongoro Crater is world-renowned for its unparalleled concentration of animal and bird life, with zebras, topis, elands, warthogs, hartebeests, and many other species easily spotted. The list is endless! 😊

Day 5: Olduvai - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will check out of the Ngorongoro Lodge and drive to Olduvai Gorge, where Dr Louise and Mary Leaky discovered old fossils of a hominid known as Australopithecus Boisei. This discovery gave rise to the theory that Africa is the cradle of humanity, and at Olduvai Gorge, you will be given a brief overview of the theory and discovery. Following that, you will drive to the Serengeti via the Naabi Hill Gate, where you will briefly stop to register. On this day, you will have a picnic lunch and continue with the game drives in the plains for the remainder of the afternoon before driving to central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park full Day

On this day, you will have the opportunity to go for a morning game drive at dawn (if you wish), giving you the best chance to see nocturnal animals retiring and diurnal species waking up for a new day under the beautiful African rising sun. You will then return to the lodge for breakfast and then leave with a lunch box for a full day of game drives on the endless plains of the Serengeti. Depending on the months you travel, you may witness the Great Migration, which involves the movement of over a million and a half wildebeests, as well as zebras and gazelles, in what is the world’s largest mass movement of animals. Other resident animals include lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, topis, elands, dik-diks, baboons, and others. The Serengeti is also well-known for its abundance of bird species.

Day 7: Serengeti – Flight to Zanzibar Island

Begin Your Day. If you want, you can go on an early morning game drive at dawn; otherwise, you can eat breakfast and drive to the Seronera Airstrip to catch your flight to Zanzibar Island

Upon arrival, your Guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel, where you can relax after checking in. Dinner and overnight at the beach resort.

Day 8 - 12: Zanzibar Beach Resorts

Spend your days at the beach in Zanzibar, participating in water sports and activities at the Diving Club or simply relaxing at the resort. Diving in Zanzibar can be planned ahead of time or done spontaneously at the resort.

Day 13 : Stone Town and Zanzibar Spice tour

On this day, after breakfast, you check out of the beach resort and we drive to the Spice plantations of Zanzibar. At one of these legendary plantations of the spice island of Zanzibar, we get to explore the history of the plantations as well as learn more about the spices and fruits that were introduced to the island by explorers from the Arab world and some from Europe. We also get to sample a sumptuous lunch at the spice plantations to get a taste of local Swahili dishes. After this tour in the afternoon, we head to Stonetown for a tour of this ancient town that has also been declared a world heritage site by the United Nations body, UNESCO. We go down the narrow alleys and streets and get to see the cathedrals, the Old Fort, the House of Wonders, and the People’s Palace as well. It is an opportunity to buy some spices as well as some souvenirs.

Day 14 : Transfer to Zanzibar Airport - Departure.

Depending on your flight schedule and departure point you will be transferred to the Zanzibar Airport to take a flight back home. If you are flying out of Dar es Salaam or Nairobi, we will arrange a connecting flight for you to catch your flight back home, marking the end of your 14 Days Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Beach
