One of Tanzania’s top parks, Tarangire, has some amazing views. The Tarangire River typically provides a steady supply of water for numerous animals during the dry seasons.
Tarangire is well-known for its abundance of elephants, baobab trees, and stunning scenery. You can expect to see the heads of buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, baboons, and antelopes. For those who enjoy bird watching, Tarangire is home to over 400 different species of birds, including rare animals like the greater kudu, wild dogs, and fringed-eared oryx.
You will spend the night in Karatu, a quiet town near the Ngorongoro highlands. This stop gives you time to rest after your journey and prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Drive to the Central Serengeti National Park after breakfast and take in the park’s afternoon game drive.Â
With an area of 14,763 square kilometers, Serengeti is one of Tanzania’s largest national parks. It is home to an abundance of wildlife and is one of the few places where you can see the Big Five, numerous carnivores, and birds of prey. The name Serengeti is derived from the Maasai word *Siringeti*, which means “endless plains” due to the southern grass plains that seem to go on forever, with the scene of the concentration of wildebeest and zebras during the great migration. Savor the day in the Serengeti National Park’s plains.

Drive to Ngorongoro for a safari game drive down the crater floor, then late afternoon drive to Karatu.
As part of the Serengeti ecosystem in the north and northwest of the Ndutu region, Ngorongoro is a multiple-use area where pastoralist Maasai coexist with wild animals. December through April is the best time to witness zebra and wildebeest calving. The main draw of Ngorongoro is the Ngorongoro Crater, which is the largest unbroken, non-flooded caldera in the world. It was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself, creating a caldera. Depending on the season, the caldera is the best place to see the big 4 animals, and if you’re lucky, it is possible to see the big 5.
