Meet adopted baby elephants at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
Home » Meet adopted baby elephants at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
Visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi and meet the rescued orphaned elephants that have found a second chance at life. This world-famous sanctuary is dedicated to saving and rehabilitating orphaned elephants before returning them to the wild. It is one of the most touching wildlife experiences in Kenya.
The visit starts with a briefing about the Trust’s conservation work and how each elephant is rescued, cared for, and eventually reintroduced into protected reserves. You will then move to the open area where the young elephants walk in with their keepers for their daily feeding and mud bath.
Watch the elephants play, roll in the mud, and interact with their caretakers. Each elephant has a name and a story of rescue, often after losing its mother to poaching or natural causes. Visitors who have adopted elephants through the Trust can meet their adopted calves up close and take photos from the viewing area.
The experience is both educational and emotional. It gives you a real connection to Kenya’s conservation efforts and the challenges facing elephant populations.
