The east coast consists of Magoroto Forest Reserve, Tanga, and Pangani. Magoroto Forest Reserve’s tropical rainforest is the perfect spot for a getaway and outdoor camping.
The estate is located 850m above sea level where temperatures are pleasant all year long. The estate offers stunning views from the Muheza Valley to the Indian Ocean. Enjoy the lush rainforest with rare plants and bird species, explore the dense tropical forest with organic spices, picnic, or swim in our beautiful lake!
Along with the neighboring Mlinga Forests, Magoroto forms part of the East Usambara Mountains, which are world-renowned for their high species endemism and rich floral and fauna diversity. They are recognized as part of a Biodiversity Hotspot (WWF & IUCN), an “Important Bird Area” (Wildlife Conservation Society of Tanzania – WCST), and a “Man and Biosphere Reserve (UNESCO).
African Violets (Saintpaulia) have been promoted as flagship plants for the conservation of these forests. Magoroto Forest Reserve being in Tanga, this trip is complemented by a beach safari to Pangani. Specific to Ushongo village, one of the most calm places & beaches we have ever experienced in Tanzania.
Ushongo Beach in Tanga, this beautiful, sandy, palm-fringed beach is untouched by development. The beach is virtually deserted most of the time giving an exclusive beach experience.
Day by day
Day 1: ARRIVAL
Pick up at Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport followed by a drive to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Kibo Palace Hotel Moshi
DAY 02: MOSHI TO MKOMAZI
soon after your morning breakfast. A Six (4) hour’s drive to Korogwe. On route to this area, clients get a chance to see the Upare & Usambara Mountain range. With stops when one feels like during this trip. Enjoy the experience at the Mkomazi National Park afternoon game drive across the park
dinner and overnight at Tanapa Bandaz.
DAY 03: MKOMAZI FULL DAY
After breakfast at the lodge enjoy a full-day game drive across the park with an option to perform special rhino-viewing activity

DAY 04:MKOMAZI NATIONAL PARK TO AMANI NATURE FOREST RESERVE
The night safaris are led by expert guides from Amani Forest Camp, You look for rare chameleons that glow in the light of your flashlight.
Perform the following activities: Bird spotting, Camp walk, frog and chameleon walk
Dinner and overnight at Amani Forest public campsite
DAY 05: AMANI NATURE FOREST RESERVE full-day
Continue enjoying the beauty of Amani forest by performing full day activities including Hiking, Mountain biking, Visit Kwamkoro tea plantation, Visit Mbomole hill, Visit butterfly project

DAY 06: AMANI NATURE FOREST RESERVE TO MAGOROTO
On route to this area, clients get a chance to see the Upare & Usambara Mountain range. With stops when one feels like during this trip. Lunch break around 1 pm to 2 pm at the client’s preferred point. Either a hot lunch or lunch box will be provided. After arriving at Muheza, a 12 km drive to Magoroto forest. expected arrival time is between 5 pm to 7 pm.

DAY 07: Magoroto Forest tour
Waking hopeful not hangover from the first epic night at Magoroto Forest Reserve. The day starts with breakfast, then a plan on how you wish to explore this landscape. Activities include Fishing, Swimming, Forest Walks, Waterfalls, Bicycle experiences & bird watching. All of these activities can be planned out so well that to find a balance with your interests. You will have the option to go with a picnic lunch box or return to the lodge before presiding over the day’s activities. We have always thought the nightlife of Magoroto forest to be very epic, a borne fire is always up. Board games & so many parties complement this stay in Magoroto.

DAY 08: Magoroto Forest to Pangani, Tanga
On this day, you are set to catch the sunset at Ushongo in Pangani, Tanga. The drive to this area is very spectacular. A nontouristic destination with landscapes views & cultures unique to Tanga. We like this drive so much which goes through Pangani ferry crossing. Random stops for lunch & pictures, while enjoying meeting local people, talking all & everything about life. You are expected to arrive to your accommodation before the sun sets, to explore the neighborhood and the perfect beaches of Ushongo.

DAY 09: Ushongo Beach & Relaxing
A day set to relax & enjoy the clean, chilled beaches of Ushongo. With activities based on your interest. From day trips to islands in the ocean formed by the effects of low tide. Fishing experiences & Scrubber diving. To walking experiences in Ushongo villages where much of urban development has yet exploited the area.
DAY 10: Ushongo Beach
This area is unique and has been attracting travelers from all over the world. Walking on the beach & meeting travelers or locals can also satisfy one’s need to relax. From meeting backpackers & laying flat down on the white sands of Ushongo. To feel up a second day of Nothing but relaxing and peace of mind.
DAY 11: Ushongo beach to Saadani national park
An early morning game drive to Saadani National Park from ushongo beach where you will have an opportunity to do a game drive in the savannah part of the park enjoying the view of a rare species of Black and white Colobus Monkeys.

DAY 12: Saadani beach relaxing.

DAY 13: DEPARTURE
On this day, the day starts with a drive to either Kilimanjaro region or Dar es Salaam a local or international flight Marking the end of your 13 Days Tanzania East coast safari.
